Curtain Call Critters invites children and classrooms into a magical backyard garden where all the plants and animals have a story to tell as they embark on a variety of adventures. This tool can supplement your elementary level lesson plans or provide an outside creative outlet for numerous after school programs. Parents and other caregivers can use the site simply for a fun story time and related projects. 

 

Stories narrated by a sassy backyard squirrel take young readers on a journey using real nature facts. The stories include themes of friendship, community, survival and finding ones place in the world. Each unique adventure and changing season transports children to a magical world built in nature that they can find in their own backyards and neighborhoods. 

 

Each Curtain Call Critter story is accompanied with a matching children’s theater script that can be used to put on a small 15 to 20 minute play. Children can bring the story to life in their own unique way. The script includes character breakdown, dialogue, stage direction and options for art and prop inclusion.  Also check out recipe and art project sections for each story. Materials are updated with new adventures periodically.

An additional service allows you to request a story and script built around your specific classroom or extracurricular activity needs. If you have a particular region, animal or theme in mind let us know. Let your students use their own imagination to come up with a theme and we will do the rest. This service does require a fee based on project scope.
